| Obverse description | Diademed head of Mithradates VI Eupator facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic royal portrait tradition with idealized, youthful features and flowing, wavy hair swept back from the forehead. The diadem is tied around the head with the ends trailing behind the neck. The portrait displays strong, slightly heroic facial features characteristic of the late Pontic royal coinage struck at Pergamon, with fine engraving detail visible in the curling locks of hair framing the face. |
