| Beschrijving keerzijde | A stag grazing left occupies the central field, rendered in fine Hellenistic style. The Greek legend BAΣIΛEΩΣ appears above, with MIΘPAΔATOY and EYΠATOPOΣ inscribed in two lines below, identifying the issuer as King Mithridates Eupator. To the left stands a star-in-crescent symbol, a dynastic emblem of the Pontic kingdom. The regnal year A (year 1) appears above a monogram to the right, while the month letter Γ (month 3) is placed in the exergue. The entire design is enclosed within a Dionysiac wreath of ivy leaves and fruit, a motif closely associated with the cult of Dionysos favored by Mithridates VI. |
