In his extended right hand he holds an eagle, and in his left hand he grasps a long sceptre resting against his shoulder. To the inner left field, a star set within a crescent appears above a monogram, serving as a mint or magistrate control mark. The royal legend BAΣIΛEΩΣ MIΘPAΔATOY is arranged in two lines flanking the enthroned deity, identifying the issuer as King Mithradates. The composition closely follows Seleucid and broader Hellenistic iconographic conventions for royal silver coinage. |
