| Obverse description | Horse prancing to the left in high relief, rendered with fine naturalistic detail characteristic of Thracian coinage of the late 5th century BC. The animal is depicted in a lively, animated pose with forelegs raised, tail flowing, and musculature carefully articulated. A retrograde Greek legend appears in the lower field, partially visible beneath the horse. The overall style reflects the accomplished die-cutting tradition of Maroneia during this period. |
