| Reverse description | Owl standing upright facing, with head turned toward the viewer, displayed in the canonical Athenian owl reverse type. An olive sprig and crescent appear in the upper left field, closely following the Athenian prototype. To the right of the owl appears an Aramaic inscription naming the satrap Mazakes, along with a monogram, possibly representing a fire altar symbol, serving as a distinguishing mark of this provincial issue from the Persian satrapy of Egypt. |
