| Obverse description | Laureate and cuirassed bust of Maximianus facing right, with a short beard, draped over the left shoulder. The emperor's effigy is rendered in the late Roman provincial style, with a radiate or laurel wreath crown and detailed armour visible at the truncation. The encircling Greek legend reads Α Κ Μ ΟYΑ ΜΑΞΙΜΙΑΝΟC CЄΒ, identifying the emperor as Caesar Marcus Valerius Maximianus Augustus. The portrait displays bold, well-defined facial features characteristic of the Tetrarchic period. |
