In her outstretched right hand she holds a Nike presenting a wreath. In the inner left field, a forepart or facing head of a lion appears above a monogram, serving as mint control symbols specific to this emission. The reverse legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ, meaning 'of King Lysimachus,' is disposed in two lines flanking the enthroned goddess, written in the Greek alphabet in clean, well-formed letters consistent with early Hellenistic epigraphy. |
