| Obverse description | Diademed head of the deified Alexander III the Great facing right, rendered in high relief with flowing locks of hair and the prominent ram's horn of Ammon curling forward above the ear, asserting his divine status as son of Zeus-Ammon. The portrait is executed in the refined Hellenistic style characteristic of the Lysimachean coinage, with finely engraved facial features and voluminous, naturalistic hair cascading about the neck. A dotted border frames the design at the coin's periphery. No legend appears on the obverse, the divine portrait alone serving as the principal identifying device. |
