| Obverse description | Diademed head of the deified Alexander the Great facing right, wearing the ram's horn of Zeus Ammon curling forward above his ear, a divine attribute symbolizing his claimed descent from the god. The portrait is rendered in the idealized Hellenistic style, with finely engraved hair emerging from beneath the diadem and flowing behind the neck.
