| Beschrijving voorzijde | Youthful, beardless head of Heracles facing right, depicted in the idealized Lysippan tradition, wearing the scalp of the Nemean lion as a headdress, with the beast's jaw over the crown of the head and its paws knotted at the neck. The modelling of the face is finely rendered with pronounced brow, full lips, and carefully articulated curling locks of hair visible beneath and around the lion skin. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, with the portrait centrally placed and occupying the majority of the obverse field. |
