| Obverse description | Laureate head of Apollo facing left, rendered in fine Classical style with naturalistic modeling of the facial features. The hair is elaborately arranged in wavy locks drawn back and bound with a laurel wreath, with loose curls falling at the nape of the neck. The portrait exhibits the refined artistic sensibility characteristic of late 4th-century BC Greek coinage from the Black Sea region. The field is smooth and unlettered, with the bust occupying the full flan. |

The anchor, a civic emblem of Apollonia Pontika referencing its maritime identity, is rendered in bold relief with prominent flukes and a crossbar near the top. The magistrate's name ΚΛΕΟΚΡΑΤΗΣ is inscribed vertically along the left border of the incuse square in Greek characters.
