| Beschrijving voorzijde | King Kanishka I depicted standing facing left in full military attire, holding a trident in his right hand, with a sacrificial altar to his left from which flames emerge. The figure is rendered in the characteristic Kushan frontal-stance tradition with heavy drapery. A Bactrian legend in Greek-derived script runs around the periphery of the field, identifying the ruler. The style reflects the syncretic Greco-Bactrian artistic vocabulary adapted for Kushan coinage. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The goddess Nana stands facing right, nimbed and adorned with a crescent emblem, rendered in a hieratic frontal style. She holds a long scepter in her right hand and a small box or vessel in her left. The Kushan royal tamgha symbol appears to the right of the figure in the field. A brief Bactrian legend identifying the deity flanks the figure, and the overall composition reflects the strong Iranian religious iconography prevalent in Kushan coinage of this period. |
