| Obverse description | Diademed head of the deified Alexander III facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with flowing, wavy locks framing the face and curling behind the ear. A small ram's horn of Ammon curls forward above the ear, signifying Alexander's divine association with Zeus-Ammon. The portrait is struck in high relief with naturalistic modelling, displaying a slightly open mouth and idealized youthful features characteristic of posthumous Lysimachean coinage. The field is plain, with no legend on the obverse. |

| Reverse description | Athena Nikephoros seated left upon a throne, wearing helmet and aegis, extending her right hand to receive Nike, who crowns the royal name inscribed in the field. Her left arm rests upon a large round shield decorated with a lion's head boss, while a transverse spear leans behind her. The legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ runs in two lines around the field; a monogram appears in the left field; the city ethnic BY is inscribed below the throne; and a filleted trident appears in the exergue, serving as the mint mark of Byzantion. |
