Reverse description Athena Nikephoros seated left upon a throne, her body clad in chiton and aegis, her left arm resting upon a large round shield decorated with a boss, while a long transverse spear leans diagonally in the background. In her extended right hand she holds a small Nike figure. The Greek legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ runs along the upper and right fields, reading 'of King Lysimachus.' A monogram appears to the inner left of the throne, the civic identifier BY (for Byzantion) is placed beneath the throne, and an ornate trident — the distinctive civic badge of Byzantion — occupies the exergue.
