Beschrijving voorzijde Diademed effigy of the deified Alexander III of Macedon facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with flowing, tousled hair secured by a royal diadem. The small curling horn of Ammon emerges just above the ear, signifying Alexander's divine association with the Egyptian god Zeus-Ammon. The portrait is boldly struck in high relief, with sharply defined facial features including a strong brow, prominent nose, and slightly parted lips. The field is plain and unlettered, the entire composition focused on the heroic, idealized likeness of the deified king.

Beschrijving keerzijde Athena Nikephoros seated left upon a throne, her right hand extended to hold a small winged figure of Nike who crowns the royal legend above; her left arm rests upon a large round shield decorated with geometric ornament. A transverse spear leans against her left shoulder in the background. In the inner left field, a control monogram appears; on the throne seat, the civic mint mark BY (for Byzantion) is inscribed. The Greek legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ runs around the upper and right fields, identifying this as a coin struck in the name of King Lysimachus.
