| Obverse description | Diademed head of the deified Alexander the Great facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic portrait tradition with characteristic flowing, tousled hair arranged in voluminous curls. The effigy bears the distinctive curl of the horn of Ammon emerging above the ear, signifying Alexander's divine association with the Egyptian god Zeus-Ammon. The portrait is executed in high relief with fine engraving, capturing the idealized heroic features of the deified conqueror. No legend appears on the obverse field. |
