Reverse description Athena Nikephoros seated left on a throne, clad in chiton and aegis, holding aloft a small winged Nike in her extended right hand who appears to crown the royal name; her left arm rests upon a large round shield decorated with a gorgoneion. A long spear is placed transversely behind the goddess. The two-line Greek legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ ('of King Lysimachus') flanks the central type. In the exergue, a tunny fish facing left serves as the civic badge of Cyzicus, identifying the mint.
