| Obverse description | Diademed head of the deified Alexander the Great facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with flowing, elaborately curled hair swept back from the forehead. The effigy bears the small horn of Ammon curling above the ear, signifying Alexander's divine association with Zeus-Ammon. The portrait is struck in high relief, with sensitively modeled facial features characteristic of posthumous Lysimachean coinage. The field is plain, with no surrounding legend. |
