| Obverse description | Facing right, the youthful head of Herakles rendered in high relief, enveloped in the lion's skin headdress — the scalp drawn over the crown and the forepaws knotted at the throat — with flowing locks of hair visible beneath. The bold, idealised facial features display pronounced musculature characteristic of late fourth-century Macedonian die engraving. The flan is bordered by a beaded outer circle, and the coin exhibits an attractive iridescent cabinet toning. |
