Obverse description Right-facing head of the youthful Herakles in high relief, wearing the scalp of the Nemean lion as a headdress, its paws knotted beneath the chin. The portrait exhibits strong, idealised features with full cheeks, a prominent brow, and tightly curled hair escaping from beneath the lion skin. The broad, well-struck flan displays a plain field with no legend, characteristic of the Alexandrine coinage type. The overall style reflects the Hellenistic workshop tradition of Odessos, with bold and confident die engraving.
