Obverse description Right-facing head of the hero Herakles in three-quarter relief, wearing the scalp of the Nemean lion as a headdress, the lion's mane rendered with fine parallel striations framing the face. The facial features display a youthful, idealized quality consistent with late Classical Greek artistry, with a prominent brow, almond-shaped eye, and slightly parted lips. The lion's skin is tied at the neck, and the ear of Herakles is visible beneath the headdress. The flan is slightly irregular, characteristic of hand-struck coinage of the period. No legend appears on the obverse.
