| Opis awersu | Youthful head of Heracles in right profile, beardless, wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress, with the scalp drawn over the crown and the forelegs knotted at the throat. The facial features are finely rendered in the Hellenistic tradition, with softly modeled cheeks, a prominent brow, and curling locks of hair visible beneath the pelt. The lion's gaping muzzle frames the top of the head, its mane rendered in bold, stylized relief. No legend or inscription appears on the obverse. |

The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field. In the left field, the monogram ΕΔ is placed above an oenochoe (wine jug) facing right, the latter set beneath a decorative vine tendril, serving as the mint control marks for the Temnos issue. |
