| Beschrijving voorzijde | Youthful right-facing bust of Heracles in high relief, his head enveloped in the scalp of the Nemean lion, the beast's gaping jaws framing his forehead and the knotted forepaws visible at the neck. The idealized, beardless facial features — strongly modelled cheekbones, a subtly parted lip, and a slightly upturned chin — reflect the Lysippan portraiture tradition associated with Alexander III. The flowing hair emerges in loose, naturalistic waves beneath the lion-skin headdress. No legend or inscription appears on the obverse; the field is otherwise plain. |
