| Obverse description | Youthful head of Heracles facing right, beardless, enveloped in the Nemean lion-skin headdress with the scalp drawn over the crown and the forepaws knotted at the throat. The finely modelled features display idealized Hellenistic artistry, with curling locks visible beneath the pelt at the temple and nape. The bold, high-relief portrait fills the flan, with the lion's open jaws framing the top of the head and the mane rendered in deeply incised parallel striations across the left field. |
