| Beschrijving keerzijde | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a low backless throne, his nude upper body turned in three-quarter view; his outstretched right hand supports an eagle with closed wings, while his left hand grasps a long sceptre rising vertically from the ground. The reverse legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field, and in the left field appear a control monogram above a thunderbolt, serving as mint or magistrate symbols. The composition follows the canonical Alexander type established at the royal Macedonian mint of Pella. |
