Obverse description Youthful bare head of Heracles facing right, depicted beardless with idealized classical features, wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress with the scalp drawn over the crown and the forepaws knotted at the neck. The lion's gaping jaws frame the upper portion of the head, with the mane rendered in detailed relief across the left field. The portrait exhibits strong Lysippan influence, with fine die work characteristic of the early Pella mint production.
