Reverse description Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned to the left on a low backless throne, his body draped from the waist, the right arm extended and bearing an eagle with closed wings, the left hand grasping a long upright sceptre. In the left field, a thyrsus (Dionysiac wand) is placed vertically; below the throne, a Boeotian shield serves as a control symbol. The reverse legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field in Greek characters, identifying the issue as struck in the name of Alexander. The composition follows the canonical reverse type established under Alexander III and continued by his successors.
