Obverse description Beardless head of Heracles in right profile, wearing the Nemean lion-skin headdress, the scalp secured over the crown with the forepaws knotted at the throat; the musculature and fur of the headdress rendered with fine detail characteristic of the Pella mint. The portrait displays the idealized heroic features conventional for Alexander-type coinage, with a dotted border framing the flan.
