| Obverse description | Facing right, the head of the deified Herakles rendered in fine Hellenistic style, wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress knotted at the throat, with the mane and paws visible framing the face. The portrait displays deeply modeled facial features with full, curling locks of hair emerging beneath the scalp of the lion skin. The field is smooth and unlettered, with no surrounding legend, consistent with the Alexandrine coinage tradition. The die engraving demonstrates confident, high-relief workmanship characteristic of the posthumous Hellenistic tetradrachm series. |
