| Obverse description | Youthful bare head of Heracles facing right, depicted beardless with idealized heroic features, wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress, the scalp with open jaws framing the upper cranium and the pelt falling loosely behind. The hair is rendered in tight curling locks about the temple and ear. The workmanship reflects the refined Hellenistic die-cutting tradition of posthumous Alexandrine coinage, with strong portraiture in high relief against a smooth field. |
