The portrait displays the characteristic idealized features associated with the Lysippan tradition, with a strong brow, well-defined nose, and slightly parted lips. The lion's mane frames the face dramatically, with the beast's snout resting above the forehead and its pelt draping over the neck and shoulder. The flan is broad and well-centered, with the design struck in high relief typical of late Hellenistic coinage. No legend appears on the obverse. |

In the left field, a Corinthian helmet facing right appears above the monogram ΜΑ, with an additional control monogram positioned below the throne, serving as mint and magistrate identifiers specific to the Mesembrian issue. The overall composition follows the canonical posthumous Alexandrine reverse type with local civic symbols added to distinguish the emission. |
