Reverse description Zeus Aëtophoros seated left on a high-backed throne, his body semi-nude with drapery across the lower limbs. He extends his right hand forward, upon which perches a spread-winged eagle, while his left hand holds a tall sceptre resting against his shoulder. The throne is elaborately rendered with decorative legs and a footstool beneath his feet. A mint control symbol — a torch above a monogram — appears in the left field, and the legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field in retrograde reading from top to bottom.
