Obverse description Head of the youthful, beardless Heracles facing right, wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress, with the scalp drawn over the crown and the forepaws knotted at the neck. The facial features are rendered in a finely modelled Hellenistic style, with a straight nose, slightly parted lips, and flowing hair visible beneath the headdress. A dotted border encircles the design. The portrait conflates the hero Heracles with the idealized image of Alexander III, consistent with the canonical Macedonian tetradrachm type.
