Reverse description Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned to the left upon a low backless throne (diphros), his nude upper body rendered with commanding authority. He extends his right arm forward, upon which perches an eagle with closed wings, while his left hand grasps a long upright sceptre. To the left field, a single-handled jug (oinochoe) is depicted within a wreath, serving as the civic control symbol of the mint of Cyme in Aeolis. The inscription ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field, and the ethnic ΑΘΗΝΙΚΩΝ appears in the exergue, identifying the magistrate or civic authority responsible for the issue.
