| Reverse description | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left upon a stool-throne, his nude torso rendered in three-quarter view; he holds a long sceptre in his left hand and extends his right hand bearing an eagle. The throne back is adorned with Nikai (winged Victory figures). In the left field, a trident-head serves as the mint control symbol. The legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs to the right of the throne, and the ethnic of Corinth may appear in the lower field. The composition follows the canonical Alexandrine type established under Alexander III the Great. |
