Obverse description Youthful bare head of Heracles facing right, wearing the Nemean lion-skin headdress, the scalp knotted beneath the chin with the beast's forepaws draped over the shoulders. The portrait displays finely rendered curling locks emerging from beneath the pelt, with strong, idealized facial features in the Hellenistic tradition. A faint rosette is visible in the lower field. The design fills the flan to its edges, framed by a dotted border.
