The portrait displays the idealized youthful features traditionally associated with Alexander III, with softly modeled cheeks and a strong jawline. The reverse of the lion scalp falls behind the neck in flowing folds, lending the design a characteristic Lysippan quality. The broad, well-centered flan shows good metal flow with original surface luster partially preserved beneath a light gray patina. |
