| Obverse description | Youthful beardless head of Heracles facing right, wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress with the scalp knotted beneath the chin, rendered in fine high relief characteristic of the Corinthian mint. The facial features are idealized, displaying a strong profile with well-defined brow and prominent chin. A dotted border frames the design at the coin's periphery. The portraiture follows the canonical Lysippan tradition established for Alexander III's coinage. |
