Reverse description Zeus Aetophoros enthroned left on a backless stool-throne, his draped figure depicted in three-quarter view; his outstretched right hand supports an eagle with wings folded, while his left hand holds a long upright sceptre. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field. In the left field, the city ethnic AΣ (for Aspendus) appears above the Macedonian regnal date KH (year 28, corresponding to 185/184 BC). A sling, the civic symbol of Aspendus, is placed beneath the throne, serving as a distinctive mint control mark.
