| Obverse description | Youthful head of Heracles facing right, depicted beardless and wearing the Nemean lion-skin headdress, the scalp knotted beneath the chin with the forelegs draped over the shoulder. The portrait is rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair visible beneath the pelt, and the musculature of the lion's muzzle clearly articulated above the brow. The entire design is set within a border of beads. |
