Obverse description Youthful head of Heracles facing right, depicted beardless and wearing the Nemean lion-skin headdress, the scalp knotted beneath the chin with the forelegs draped over the shoulder. The portrait is rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair visible beneath the pelt, and the musculature of the lion's muzzle clearly articulated above the brow. The entire design is set within a border of beads.

Reverse description Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left upon a stool-throne, his draped figure depicted in three-quarter view; he holds an eagle on his outstretched right hand and a long sceptre upright in his left. In the left field, a club is depicted vertically; below the throne, the mint control mark ΦΙ appears. The ethnic legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field, identifying this issue as struck in the name of Alexander the Great.
