Obverse description Right-facing youthful head of Herakles in three-quarter relief, wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress with the scalp pulled over the crown and the paws knotted at the throat. The facial features are rendered with characteristic Hellenistic naturalism, with flowing, tightly curled hair visible beneath the lion skin. A fine beaded border encircles the design field.

Reverse description Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a high-backed throne with ornate legs, his muscular torso nude, lower body draped. He extends his right arm forward to support an eagle with wings closed, while his left hand rests upon a long sceptre. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs vertically along the right field, with the monogram ΙΦ (civic magistrate symbol of Argos) positioned to the left of the throne.
