Obverse description Right-facing head of the hero Herakles in three-quarter profile, rendered in fine Hellenistic style. The effigy is clad in the scalp of the Nemean lion, with the beast's gaping jaws framing the crown of the head and its paws knotted at the throat. The hair of Herakles emerges in voluminous, finely detailed curls beneath the lion-skin headdress. The portrait displays strongly idealized facial features with a smooth cheek, well-defined brow, and a slightly parted mouth, consistent with the canonical Alexander-type dies produced at Amphipolis. The obverse is set within a plain border with no legend.
