Obverse description Youthful bare head of Heracles in right-facing profile, depicted beardless with idealized features, wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress whose scalp and forepaws are rendered in fine relief over the crown and forehead. The mane falls naturalistically behind the neck, with detailed claw-ties visible at the throat. The portrait displays the characteristic high-relief Hellenistic style associated with the Amphipolis mint, with a dotted border encircling the field.
