| Beschrijving voorzijde | Youthful, beardless head of Heracles in right profile, wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress, the scalp drawn over the crown with the lion's gaping jaws framing the face and the forepaws knotted at the throat. The facial features are finely modelled in the Hellenistic tradition, with crisp curling locks visible beneath the headdress. The portrait likely serves as an idealized effigy of Alexander the Great himself, assimilated to the hero Heracles. No legend appears on the obverse field. |
