| Beschrijving keerzijde | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left upon a backless throne, his semi-draped figure commanding the field with divine authority. The god extends his right arm forward, an eagle with closed wings perched upon his outstretched hand, while his left hand grasps a long sceptre held upright. A tripod stands in the left field as a mint control symbol. The Greek legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right and lower fields, identifying the issue as struck in the name of King Alexander. The composition reflects the canonical reverse type established under Alexander III and continued through the early Diadoch period. |
