| Obverse description | Youthful head of Heracles facing right, wearing the lion skin headdress with the scalp knotted beneath the chin, the beast's paws draped over the shoulders. The facial features are rendered in the idealized Hellenistic style, with fine curling locks visible beneath the lion skin. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, characteristic of posthumous civic issues struck in the Pontic region. |
