| Reverse description | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a backless throne, his body draped, with a large eagle perched on his extended right hand and a long sceptre held upright in his left. In the inner left field, a Corinthian helmet is placed above a monogram, serving as the mint control marks of the Mesembrian issuing authority. The Greek legend BAΣIΛEΩΣ AΛEΞANΔΡOΥ ('of King Alexander') runs along the right and lower fields, following the standard posthumous Alexandrine reverse type. |
