| Obverse description | Head of the deified Herakles facing right, portrayed with the idealized features conventionally associated with Alexander the Great, wearing the Nemean lion scalp headdress over flowing curly hair. The effigy is rendered in fine high relief with naturalistic anatomical detail characteristic of Hellenistic die engraving. The lion's scalp frames the face prominently, with the paws knotted at the throat and the mane cascading to the left. No legend or inscription appears on the obverse field. |

| Reverse description | Zeus Aetophoros enthroned left on a throne with ornate legs, his semi-draped muscular figure shown in three-quarter view, right arm extended and holding an eagle perched on his outstretched hand, left hand resting on a long sceptre. In the left field, a monogram control mark is visible. The mint ethnic ΡΟ appears in the exergue beneath the throne. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs vertically along the right field. A dotted border encircles the design. |
