| Beschrijving keerzijde | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned to the left on an elaborate throne with decorative legs and footstool, his upper body nude and his lower body draped in a himation. In his extended right hand he holds an eagle facing left, while his raised left hand grasps a long scepter. The legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs vertically along the right field. To the left field appears the monogram of Herakleia Pontika, rendered as the letters ΗΡ conjoined, serving as the mint control mark. The reverse field shows characteristic die wear consistent with the late Hellenistic period of this emission. |
