| Obverse description | Youthful head of Heracles in right profile, wearing the scalp of the Nemean lion as a headdress, the beast's jaws framing his forehead and the pelt draping over the neck. The facial features are rendered in the Hellenistic idiom, with fine detailing of the curling hair visible beneath the lion skin. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, consistent with the hammered coinage of this period and mint. |
